DOREEN MAZUR Doreen Mazur, surrounded by her loving family, peacefully passed into the arms of Our Lord on Friday, October 25, 2013. She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Frank, and her five children Cal (Rita), Patrice Elson (Richard), Bruce (Paulette), Kenneth (Michelle) and Kathleen (Salah Taguri). Doreen is lovingly remembered by 16 grandchildren. "Grandma" had a special relationship with each grandchild and held them all so close to her heart. Doreen was born in Winnipeg on March 2, 1930 to Thomas and Francis Chambers. She grew up in the Weston neighbourhood of Winnipeg with her sisters, Evelyn Fostaychuk (Johnny), Fran McCarthy (Don) and brothers Don (Shelagh) and Neil (Sheila). Doreen took tremendous pride in her role as wife, mother and grandmother, which was her life's work. The legacy she leaves stressed the importance of loving and honouring family. Doreen particularly loved it when family and friends came together for her wonderful dinners and outstanding desserts. These were always special times for her. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Brebeuf Roman Catholic Parish (1707 John Brebeuf Place, Winnipeg). Special thanks to all staff on the 5th Floor, Women's Centre for their kind and compassionate care. Our family was blessed to have such a dedicated team care for our mother. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the CNIB Manitoba or CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. Cropo Funeral Chapel 204-586-8044

We are so very sorry for your loss. Hold all of your memories close to your hearts and fondly remember those wonderful dinners and of course those delicious desserts. Doug, Alan and I were very fortunate to attend a couple of those dinners and appreciated Doreen's attention to detail and her shear joy of having her family around her. Condolences from Calgary - we will be thinking of you all on Wednesday as you celebrate Doreen's life - a life well lived. Take care of one another Love Susan, Doug and Alan Elson - Posted by: Susan, Doug and Alan Elson (In Laws) on: Oct 28, 2013
