GORDON OLSON February 24, 1933 - October 22, 2013 Gordon passed away on Tuesday, October 22 with family at his side. Left to cherish Gordon's memory are his wife Charlotte, and his four children; Barry (Sonya), Kim (Matt), Edwin (Debbie) and Dwayne (Bonnie). He will be dearly missed by friends and family, especially his eight grandchildren, whose lives and hearts he touched. Dad was the youngest of 11 children raised on a farm near Grandview, MB. He left the farm at a young age with a grade seven education and went on to certify as a refrigeration mechanic in Winnipeg. After working at Arnett's he partnered with Al Dale at Fort Garry Refrigeration. Dad loved his work; he was an excellent mechanic who went on to run his own business for over 40 years. Dad's passion for hunting and fishing never waned; he always looked forward to the next trip with close friends and family. He enjoyed curling and became an avid spectator in his later years. Dad was a generous man who was always the first to roll up his sleeves and help out. He will be missed. Service will be held on Friday, November 1 at Fort Garry United Church, 800 Point Rd. at 1:00 p.m.

Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • I had the pleasure and joy of meeting Gordon and family in Winnipeg at their home. Dwayne (son) who is working on the family tree, helped generate this contact. I didn't realize the importance of it, but one never knows, so I'm glad I had that opportunity to meet Gordon and his wonderful family. Love and Blessing to you here and above.
