ALISON LEILA ARMSTRONG February 8, 1959 October 24, 2013 After a lengthy battle with cancer, Alison passed away at Jocelyn House. She was predeceased by her father Don and her mother (Thora) Margaret. Alison will be missed by her sister Charlene (Doug) Goodchild, niece Jackie (Justin), Gord and family, her aunts, uncles, cousins and her special friends. Alison was born and raised in Winnipeg. She attended school in St. James and received a Business Certificate from RRCC. In the late 70's, she moved to Denver. There she discovered Spiritualism which became an integral part of her life. After her return to Winnipeg, in the 80's, she continued with her beliefs and was a member of the Centre for Spiritual Living. Alison's greatest achievement was becoming a Registered Massage Therapist. She loved being self-employed and healing and helping people. She enjoyed going to Goldeye games, theatre, sewing and crocheting. She was an animal lover, providing a loving home to many dogs and cats. Thank you to her friends and family for their love and support through this difficult time in Alison's life. Also to the nurses and staff at Victoria Hospital Oncology and Jocelyn House. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 2 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jocelyn House Hospice or Darcy's ARC. 204-586-8044

  • Alison was one special woman who showed so much compassion to people and animals who were drawn to her. Loved the picture of her with Toby and Heidi. She will be dearly missed but her spiritual soul is needed in heaven where she can continue her angelic ways. - Posted by: Shirley Bird (Friend) on: Nov 03, 2013

  • I have wonderful memories of Alison (and Charlene) baby-sitting me and my siblings, and a wonderful time I had with her when she had me to her apartment for a sleepover when I was 12. I looked up to Alison (and Charlene) and remember trying on all their shoes, and drooling over her earring collection. My heart goes out to Charlene, Doug & Jackie and family and to all our relatives who have lost a wonderful lady. Alison will be greatly missed by all of us. - Posted by: Shannon Thompson (Cousin) on: Nov 02, 2013

  • I remember walking with a group of people, and with Alison in the "Run for the Cure." That year, it took everything she had to make it to the 1 km mark, with dogs in tow, but she did it! We hugged, shed some tears and kept going in her honor. Alison touched many people with her inspirational strength. - Posted by: Dawn Carey (friend) on: Nov 02, 2013
