HELEN MARY KENDEL (KRAMER) 1917 - 2013 On October 30, 2013, Helen quietly passed away. In her 97th year, Mom lived, loved and shared her life with family and friends. Helen was married to Andrew Kendel for 46 years before his passing in 1988. Mom grew up in Elmwood, and lived for over 60 years in the family home. She was Mother to sons, Andrew Jr. and Dale (Barbara), grandchildren, Laura and David (Karen), and great-grandchildren, Drew and Jonathan. She will be fondly remembered by Helene, Julie-Anne, Kathy, Lorne, and many relatives and friends. She was also predeceased by her brother Herman. Family was important to Mom and she encouraged her children in school, athletics, community activities and career pursuits. Mom taught us a lot about sacrifice and priority. Her love and encouragement were always there in a quiet and unassuming way. As the keeper of family history, she had many stories to tell and share. Helen was active in her community, especially Gordon King Memorial United Church. Convening dinners with her U.C.W. Unit 6 group, brought much joy. Mom's pain slowed her down physically, but she was very engaged in family conversation to the end. During the past six years Mom received care at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg. Many thanks to the staff of B2. A celebration service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Gordon King Memorial United Church, 127 Cobourg Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2L 0H4. "No more pain and worries." We love you Mom

Dale, I'm so sorry to learn of your mom's passing. From reading her tribute, I can certainly see how you maintained your drive and the dedication you have for the causes you believe in. She sounds like a wonderful mom. - Posted by: Val Surbey (Friend of Dale) on: Nov 02, 2013
