I met Alan Reed at St. John's College, Winnipeg; and then he was 2 years ahead of me at Huron College in London, Ontario. He gave me rides back & forth in my first Seminary year. He also presided at our Wedding Ceremony in Coultervale United Church August 15, 1970. Then we both served as clergy in the Diocese of Rupert's Land for several years. Sorry to hear of his passing! - Posted by: Rev. Canon Jim Brown (Friend and Colleague) on: May 22, 2014

I was part of the selection committee that chose Allan and Norene to come and serve us in the Sault. He was one of a kind...they served the parish so well.. this is so sad for me.. too young .. heard about this from Rev. Rod Andrews today.. - Posted by: René F Carrière (St. Lukr Catherdal.. I will never forget Allan. Allan had a beautiful voice and a beautiful heart. He was clever and thoughtful and gave his love easily. When Allan was curate at St John’s Cathedral in Winnipeg his task was to work with the young peoples’ group of which I was part and thus we met. Allan became a trusted, loyal friend that inspired, encouraged, supported, and dared me to try harder. It was Allan that directed me to St John’s College and helped convince me I could succeed. Meeting Allan was a significant and important part of my life. Allan challenged and changed my attitudes. I am proud to have known him and grateful to have been able to call him a friend and I know for sure there are many, many others who feel exactly the same as I feel. Allan’s death saddens me. - Posted by: Glenn Sergius (friend) on: Nov 04, 2013

I met Allan "Tiny" Reed when we were students at St. Johns College University of Manitoba. He was a very engaging personality. We later reconnected in Kelowna when as Dean of St. Michael and All Angels, Allan presided over the funeral and burial of both my parents. Remembered with respect and fondness. - Posted by: John Ingram (friend) on: Nov 02, 2013
