MARY B. NEPINAK (BERNIE) Mary passed away peacefully on October 17, 2013 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Bernie was born in Winnipegosis, Manitoba. In 1960, Bernie attended Pine Creek Residential School. In 1968 Bernie resided at Guy Hill Residential School and attended Margaret Barber Collegiate in The Pas. In 1970 Bernie moved to Winnipeg and attended high school at Gordon Bell and Dakota Collegiate. While in Winnipeg, Bernie played fastball for the Winnipeg Friendship Centre. In 1973, Bernie entered the PENT Program at Brandon University and began her long career in Teaching. In 1984, Bernie graduated from BU and worked as a teacher, resource teacher and language teacher at Pine Creek School. Bernie's last year of teaching was in Poplar Hill, Ontario. Bernie leaves to mourn her partner William of 32 years, four children Lorenda (Charles), Ricky (Melissa), Tyson, Ryan, grandchildren Kobi, Tristen, Nelin, Phoenix and Ciara, brother Albert, sisters Charlotte, Claire (Norbert), Alice (Johnny), Nancy (Ernest), Georgina, numerous nieces and nephews. Bernie was predeceased by parents Joe and Rose, sister Edna, Pauline and brothers Thomas, Joseph and Walter, brother-in-law John Roulette and sister-in-law Josephine. The family wishes to thank unit 6 for their care and compassion in making Bernie comfortable until her passing. In honour of her wishes, Bernie was put to her final resting place at Our Lady of Seven Sorrows RC Church Cemetery in Pine Creek on October 26, 2013. Pallbearers were Dale Brass, Shawn Brass, Ernest Mckay Jr. Randy Nepinak, Alex Nepinak, Joe Ross, Wilson Ross and Brian Nepinak.

  • We certainly feel a void in our family, Bernie's home was the center of attraction for any kind of events Xmas, New Years, Bernie kept up the tradition that was taught by our parents.
