KAREN LEE OKO March 30, 1957 - November 7, 2013 Peacefully, following a lengthy illness, it is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Lee Oko surrounded by family, at home where she was always the happiest. Karen joined her loving mother, Vicky Perchaluk who predeceased her. Left to cherish Karen's memory are husband of 38 years Gary; sons Corey (Lisa), Justin (Chantel), Darcy and sister Stasha (Al). Karen's family were her life's passion giving every moment of every day from her loving generous heart. To those fortunate enough to have been part of her essence, she gave of herself unconditionally. Karen had a big heart, volunteering at the Grace Hospital Hospice for over 10 years. She also participated in the "Never Die Alone" program, sitting with patients during their final hours providing comfort and support. Karen has left behind many broken hearts but also many fond memories. No words can express how much you will be missed by so many that you touched during your life too short. You were always an Angel walking among us dear Karen. "Love You Much" A Celebration of Karen's Life will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue. Thank you to staff at the Grace Hospital, Cancer Care Manitoba and the Palliative Care Program all of whom provided excellent care throughout. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba or the Grace Hospital Foundation. • All of us have nothing but fond memories of Karen. We truly were blessed to have had such amazing neighbors for over 20 years! We had many chats from our backyards where Karen spent countless hours trying to come up with solutions to keep the deer and rabbits away from her precious garden and beautiful flowers. Gary, I want you to know how she would often say how much you spoiled her. I hope that you will find comfort in knowing how much joy and happiness you brought to her life! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this very difficult time. - Posted by: Verna McGuckin (was a neighbor for over 20 years) on: Nov 10, 2013
