Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVAN ROSS MACPHAIL August 17, 1930 - November 7, 2013 It is with great sadness and loving memories that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Evan Ross MacPhail. He was predeceased by his mother Cassie, father Nathan, brothers Sydney, Roy and Walter and sisters Patsy, Janet and Joan. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Patricia, son Brin, daughters Shelley and Flanna (Chris), grandsons Sam, Charlie, Max and Fergus, sisters Eleanor and Annabelle, brothers Harvey (Barb) and Jeff, along with his mother-in-law Stella, father-in-law Bill, sister-in-law Judi and her family - Crystal, Allan, Addie and Avery. Ross had a courageous, heroic battle with lung cancer. He had such a beautiful attitude and was so brave and strong. His greatest joys were his grandsons Sam, Charlie, Max and Fergus and his niece Addie and nephew Avery. Ross took care of his in-laws and friends like they were his own family. Ross served in the army stationed in Germany and was a former pro boxer. He worked as a parts person in heavy trucks and was very conscientious in all his endeavors. He was a man of integrity and loyalty. Ross had the self-taught ability and passion for building computers. He enjoyed gifting them to his grandsons, family and to children who did not own computers. He loved tending to his flowers on the balcony and decorating it for Christmas. He was a fabulous cook and enjoyed family gatherings. He enjoyed watching sports on TV, was an avid reader and loved fishing and camping. We would like to thank all family and friends who visited Ross, sent cards, gifts and well wishes. Thank you for the telephone calls from friends and his family in Pictou, Nova Scotia and Moncton, New Brunswick and for supporting Pat during this difficult time. Thank you to his friends at Riverside Lions Estates. Thank you Margaret for always being there for Ross and Pat. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for the loving care and compassion given to Ross by the doctors, nurses, aides and staff at Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care, and the St. Boniface Hospital ER who diagnosed his cancer. Complying with Ross's wishes, there will be no formal service. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care, CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of your choosing. "You are my hero Ross" All my Love, Your Pats

Ross was my Dad's big brother and he feels his loss deeply. I am relieved he is at peace, but, he will be very much missed. Me...I loved Uncle Ross's voice!!.....so mellow, I thought. Love to the family. xo - Posted by: Marlene MacPhail (niece) on: Nov 09, 2013
