MARCEL GUYOT Peacefully and surrounded by family at the Notre Dame Hospital on Friday, November 8, 2013, Mr. Marcel Guyot of Haywood, Manitoba, passed away at the age of 50 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Marilyne (née Rouire) of 29 years, son Patrick Guyot (Erin Stevenson), daughter Brigitte (Tommy) Henderson and grandson Wyatt Henderson. Also left to mourn are his brother and sisters: Donald (Jeannine) Guyot, Lorraine (Kevin) Anderson and Lynn (Roger) Vaillant, nieces and nephews Jerome (Rebecca Cabernel), Eric, Stephan and Jocelyne Guyot and Myriam Vaillant, father-in-law Maurice Rouire, brothers and sisters-in-law: Lucille (Brad) Johnston, Gisele (Dennis) Henry, Doris (Al) Cooke, Gilbert (Kelly) Rouire and Normand (Jodi) Rouire, nieces and nephews Kayla, Melissa, Nathan, Brianne, Timothy, Brandon, Aspen and London, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. Marcel was predeceased by his parents Claude and Marie Guyot (nee Blanchard) and mother-in-law Angele Rouire. Marcel had a passion for driving. His semis were his pride and joy, but not nearly as much as watching his son start a life in trucking, just as he did. He was proud to watch his daughter walk down the aisle and start a family of her own. Nothing made him happier than spending time with family and watching his little speedo (Wyatt) grow up. He enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing and camping; but couldn't wait to get back on the road. Marcel met his loving wife at a St. Claude Social, it was love at first sight. Marcel married Marilyne in 1984 and set roots in Haywood where they lived for 24 years. Marcel maintained a positive attitude throughout his battle with cancer and heart disease, and always had a joke to tell the nurses or visitors. The family would like to thank Dr. Fortier for his years of service and care, and also all of the other doctors and staff at the Notre Dame Hospital. Marcel was always excited to see who was on shift so he could give them a hard time. Special thank you to Deb and Allison from Cancer Navigation Services, and Natalie who was Marcel's palliative care nurse and St. Claude Home Care. Thank you to all of the staff at Boundary Trails CancerCare and Winnipeg CancerCare for all of their help. We would also like to thank family and friends who were there for us during this very difficult time. Dad you fought long and hard but it was unfortunate you had to leave us. You have touched a lot of people's lives and we will miss your contagious smile, laughter and sense of humour. We know Marcel has saved the best road for last, the road to heaven. We love you Dad & Pepere. Family prayers will be held at Adam's Funeral Home on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the St. Denis Roman Catholic Church in Haywood, MB on Saturday, November 16, 2013. Memorial service at 1:00 p.m., funeral mass at 2:00 p.m. followed by interment in the Haywood Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Manitoba Trucking Association, 25 Bunting Street, Winnipeg, MB R2X 2P5, to establish the Marcel Guyot professional driver training scholarship. Adam's Funeral Home of Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba in care of arrangements. Phone 248-2201 or 1-888-400-2326. www.afh.ca
