EDNA LEVONA GRANT
Born: Jul 28, 1924
Date of Passing: Nov 13, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDNA LEVONA GRANT It is with great sorrow that the family of Edna Grant announces her passing on November 13, 2013. Edna is survived by her four daughters Gail (David) Pritchard; Shelagh (Jim) Russell; Margaret (Brent) Delmage and Joanne (Larry) Hondubura, as well as her five grandchildren: David, Kari, Susan, Kevin and Heather. She is also survived by her sister Gilma Helgeson of Humboldt, Saskatchewan and many nieces and nephews. Mom was born in Leroy, Saskatchewan on July 28, 1924 to parents Anna and Charles Thoen. She came to Winnipeg with her husband shortly after her marriage in 1949. She was the epitome of a working mother while raising her daughters. She was employed by Woolworth's, Woolco, Safeway and Sears. After retiring from Sears in 1986, she then began her volunteer career. She volunteered in the gift shop at Health Sciences Centre, a job she truly enjoyed. Mom was also an active member of First Lutheran Church, having joined the Dorcas Society, the FLCW and helping out on any committee wherever she was needed. She moved to Middlechurch Personal Care Home, May 2010, and resided there until her passing. We would like to acknowledge and thank the staff on B2, especially Reena and Halina, for the care they provided our Mom and the compassion shown to the family. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at First Lutheran Church, 580 Victor Street, with Pastor Michael Kurtz officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to Middlechurch Personal Care Home or First Lutheran Church would be appreciated. Bardal Funeral Home and Crematorium 204-774-7474 Condolences: www.bardal.ca
