Leo Pineau passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the age of 77 years. He battled cancer for four long years and stayed positive and optimistic due to his faith. But God had other plans for him. Leo was born in Rustico, PEI on September 22, 1936. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Emma Pineau; son, Myron; sisters, Yvonne Gauthier and Lorraine Pozdrowski; and brothers, Edward and Austin. Leo is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Virginia; children, Wayne of Moose Jaw, SK and Annette Barcier (Dwaine) of Nova Scotia; grandchildren: Crystal of Moose Jaw, SK, Valeri of Nova Scotia and Kevin of Ontario; sisters: Mary Albina MacLean, Eleanor Pineau and Louise MacPherson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Rayson at the Cancer Clinic and his home care nurse Janet. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Church of Our Lady, 566 Vaughan St., Moose Jaw, SK with Father Carlos Jimenez as presiding celebrant. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Leo's name may be made to The Terry Fox Foundation, 1812 - 9th Avenue N., Regina, SK S4R 7T4.
