Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH RENE RAYMOND LAVALLEE Ray passed away on November 13, 2013, in Calgary, AB. He leaves behind his loving children, Juliette (Walter), Jay-Lynn (Jared), Dan (Krista); his grandchildren, Sharissa, Shawn, and Nicholas; and great-granddaughter Serenity. Ray is also survived by his siblings, Martin (Evelyn), Adrian (Joyce), Denise, Lillian (Bill) and Emile. Ray was predeceased by his parents, Juliette and Joseph, and sister Juliette. Ray was born and raised in Winnipeg and later settled in Alberta. Ray's passion was working with troubled teens and youth at risk. He was awarded Foster Parent of the Year and received the Melvin Jones Award for fundraising through the Lion's Club. Ray was musically gifted and people of all ages were attracted to his jolly personality. That gift brought many smiles to the people he loved. A memory all will cherish especially his "Mon frère aîné Marty." In celebration of Ray's life a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. You don't cry because it's over, you are happy because it happened.
