Flo was born in Benson, Saskatchewan on the family farm. In 1934 the family moved to Cardinal, Manitoba. However mom lived with her uncle and aunt Despins. She received her education in Notre Dame de Lourdes school. They then moved to Winnipeg where she worked in various jobs until she met the love of her life Marcel. However the candle started burning back to school days in Notre Dame. Upon marriage they lived in Winnipeg. After a successful career in the insurance business for Marcel they decided to return home and purchase the family business in 1957. Flo would help Marcel in bookwork and later joined the many committees in the community like the Daughters of Isabella. Mom was instrumental in starting Mountain Industries and later carried on her love for working with the handicapped at the L'Arche Family and Faith and Light in Winnipeg. She then relocated to 400 Des Meurons in 1993, then eventually to Cathedral Manor. Flo was a real mom giving direction when she deemed it was needed. She was a great cook and entertainer, there was always lots of food and room for one more. Meals made from little but fit for the best. • Flo, as we all called her, was a great cook and sure could put on a spread. She was also very courageous and went on to learn how to drive after her beloved husband passed away. She literally brought up three fine Young men and spent quite a bit of time with her daughter Nicole, the latter staying at L'Arche. All in all, Flo was a fantastic woman. - Posted by: LILIANE DELAQUIS (sister-in-law) on: Nov 20, 2013
