BILL THIESSEN After a long, courageous, and inspirational struggle, it is with sadness that we announce the passing of Bill Thiessen. Bill was born July 2, 1959 to Mary and Peter Thiessen, and passed at home surrounded by his family on November 21, 2013. Left to remember his life and cherish his memory is his loving wife Ursula (his Earth), son Gabriel (his Sun), and daughter Hannah (his Stars). Nothing brought greater pleasure and pride to Bill than being involved in his children's endeavours. From Gabriel's hockey to Hannah's dance, the satisfaction Bill received from watching his children grow was a great source of happiness. For 25 years, Bill embraced the many joys of family life with his wife Ursula by his side. To many family and friends Bill leaves cherished and valued memories. From his love of the cottage and lake life, to adventures in travel, Bill was one who always sought to embrace the world around him. From the hockey rink to the tee box, from the countryside to his beloved downtown Winnipeg, Bill touched lives wherever he went. Through it all, Bill's love of music provided a soundtrack to the countless good times and happy memories that so many people will carry with them always. Bill's company and laughter will be missed by many who knew him, respected him, and loved him. For 33 years, Bill touched lives professionally with integrity and honesty. For 54 years, Bill touched lives personally with love and laughter. Until we walk the fairway again. At Bill's request, there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be mailed to: Attn: Hannah and Gabriel Thiessen Educational Trust Fund, TD Canada Trust, 1114 Corydon Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3M 0Y9. Cheques should be made payable to both Ursula Garlicki / Colleen Liebrecht.
