DAVID LAWRENCE BRETI July 17, 1951 - November 13, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David, at the age of 62, in Winnipeg, MB on November 13, 2013. Dave was born in Fort Qu'appelle SK, and came to Winnipeg in 1976. He was predeceased by his parents Mike and Jenny, and two brothers, Albert and Mike. He is survived by his brother Ernie, and sisters Margret, Rose, and Linda; along with other relatives including his favourite cousin Theresa of Regina, SK. He leaves to mourn his beloved son Scott, his daughter-in-law Lisa, and his two grandchildren, Cohen and Alyssa. He will also be truly missed by his life partner Marsha, and her granddaughter Stephanie, who was like a daughter to Dave. Dave had many close friends: Doug Nash, Gus Mauro, Baldur Holmes and Eric Hobden, just to mention a few. Dave was the type of person who would help anybody at the drop of a hat'. Many times Dave would stop to help somebody either stuck in the snow or broken down on the road, because if there's one major skill Dave had, it was car mechanics. His favourite pastime was finding treasures along back alleys that other people had decided they didn't need or want. Needless to say, he enjoyed the free give away weekends more than anyone; collecting things not just for himself, but for anyone he thought could use the items. Dave and Marsha especially enjoyed going on short excursions, never really having a destination or time limit, but just driving and ending up wherever the road would take them. In keeping with Dave's wishes, cremation has taken place, and no formal service will be held.
