BEVERLEY STELMASCHUK (nee BORKOWSKI) September 17, 1953 - November 25, 2013 It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our most beloved mother, mother-in-law, nana and sister on Monday, November 25, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Beverley was preceding in passing by her parents Rose and Joseph, brother Charles and brother-in-law Roy Kurcher. Beverley is survived by her precious daughter Larissa and son-in-law Trevor Thorsteinson, her precious son Ryan and her adored grandchildren, Hannah and Sean. She loved them with all of her heart and was so proud of them all. Beverley is also survived by her sister Verna Kurcher, brother James (Terry) Borkowski and her beloved dog Willow. Beverley was born in Gimli, MB and grew up in Winnipeg Beach. She worked at St. Alphonsus Credit Union, Credit Union Central and Service Canada, retiring from there in 2012. Beverley took great pride in all of her children's activities and achievements including Larissa's dancing, Ryan's hockey and their graduations. She loved and adored her grandchildren so much and was involved in their lives from the minute they were born, teaching, loving and nurturing them. She was by Larissa's side from the moment of their birth and was there for every special milestone and occasion. She missed being away from them and was constantly on Facetime with them whenever she was traveling. Hannah and Sean will miss their Nana dearly. Beverley enjoyed her time in the sun, relaxing on the beach and reading many books. She played softball for many years, enjoyed curling, gardening, watching hockey and was a big Jets fan. Beverley was well respected and dedicated professional throughout her career with Service Canada. Her strong will and dedication in raising her children and grandchildren is an inspiration to us all. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November, 30, 2013 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Special thanks to all of the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their wonderful care. A very special thanks to Dr. Hauch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Boniface Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice. There are no goodbyes for us, you will always be in our hearts, you are our guardian angel watching over us from Heaven. It is with great sadness that I heard of Bev's passing. I knew Bev back in her high school years at the Beach. I was her friend and boyfriend. We had great times together along with the Beach crew. I last saw Bev in 1972 shortly before I moved to Vancouver. Although it has been many years my memory of Bev and the fun we had in our carefree youth still shines bright. Goodbye Bev. Dear Verna, Larissa, Ryan and family - I am deeply saddened to read that Bev has passed. Bev and I had great times at school - Winnipeg Beach Elementary and Gimli High School - that I will fondly remember and I guess that's what we all have to do is cling to those memories at this sad time. It was nice to hear that Bev became a Nana and had that experience to share with her family but she went far too early. Please accept my deepest sympathy and cherish her memories. Bev may you rest in peace. - Posted by: Marge Willis (nee Antofichuk) (School mates - grade 7 - 12) on: Nov 29, 2013

I will miss my downstairs neighbour Beverley. From the time she moved into 1177 she always had time to stop and chat with Willow by her side. My deepest sympathy goes out to her family. - Posted by: Linda Hammersley (Neighbour) on: Nov 28, 2013

Beverley brought energy to the room as soon as she entered it. When presented with a challenge, she did not quit until it was accomplished. She loved to laugh, loved to 'make things happen' and one always knew where they stood. Beverley was compassionate, dedicated and reliable workmate. It was clear how much she loved her children and their friends. Rarely did a meeting go by without a new family story. We trust that her place in heaven is one with plenty of activity and perhaps in need of some new ideas. - Posted by: Laura and Joachim (Gus) Tutlies (Former colleagues) on: Nov 28, 2013

We are deeply saddened to hear of Bev's passing. She will be remembered fondly by all who had the opportunity to work alongside her. Her quick wit and infectious laugh will be sorely missed. Family was extremely important to Bev, and it was with obvious pride and affection that she shared stories and pictures of her children and grandchildren. Our condolences to all her family and friends. - Posted by: Norma, Jo-Anne, Kelly, Chris (Colleagues) on: Nov 28, 2013
