Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHOMAS EARL WALKER 1925 - 2013 ...I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith. (2nd Timothy 4:7) It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Earl Walker on November 27, 2013 in White Rock, British Columbia - sadness because we will miss him so very much - yet joyful because we know that he is with his Lord and Saviour whom he faithfully served, and he is now reunited with the love of his life, his wife Geneva whom he adored and missed so greatly since her passing. Left to forever cherish his memory are his children Colleen, Beth (Barry), Timothy (Lorene), Paul, and Valerie (Adam), 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and most recently, his loving wife of 62 years, Geneva. Survived by his sister-in-law Eleanor McLeod. Dad was born in Winnipeg on October 1, 1925 and went to school in Winnipeg before enlisting in the R.C.A.F. After leaving the Air Force, he began working and soon met our Mom whom he married in 1948. Together, they raised five children, and later welcomed into their family, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dad worked as an Accountant and Purchasing Agent with Dominion Bridge Steel for most of his life, and upon transferring to beautiful British Columbia, he and Mom decided it would be the place they wanted to retire. Dad's passions were curling, hockey and landscaping - many a weekend was spent planting, weeding, mowing and planning out the perfect garden. He also loved his hockey and years ago, Saturday nights were reserved for Hockey Night in Canada' during the hockey season. In later years, he cheered for his Winnipeg Goldeyes baseball team and could be seen in Vancouver as well as Winnipeg, wearing his treasured Goldeyes jacket and baseball cap. He also loved doing research on our family tree and many years were spent researching back 200 years on our family's history. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home Chapel, 14660 - 72nd Avenue, Surrey, BC. The family would like to thank the staff at Rosemary Heights Seniors Village for the warm and loving care they provided to our Dad during the past few years. United in love, reunited above.
