  • Sorry it's taken 10 years to find out about your passing old friend. You were one of the good ones that made going to work both interesting and fun. Sorry for telling tales out of school but the evening out at WITT when you (unintentionally/accidentally) unloaded half a semi-trailer load of Pick-a-Pop on the pad tracks was one of my most memorable railroad moments. I can still see the orange plastic cases of bottles sliding out the trailer doors for what seemed like an eternity. Missed you when you retired, and miss you even more now, but I'm sure Hammering Hank is taking care of business in Heaven. - Posted by: Conductor Bob (Co-woker) on: Feb 16, 2023

  • Dear Blaine and family: The news of Henry's passing leaves us with great sorrow. Henry and I started at CNR on the same day and worked on-board services in the Dining Car for many years until he switched over to the CN Yards. He was always a pleasure to be around. His quick and easy smile and twinkling eyes are hard to forget. He often popped into our home for a quick hello and a joke or two and to tell us how his family was doing. Rest well old friend. Blaine, please accept our most sincere condolences and may your memories of your time together bring you strength and peace in the difficult time ahead. I had bumped into him here and there after he retired and it was always the same as we shared stories of the workplace. • We are very sorry to hear of Henry's passing, I have some very good memories of Henry as he saved my butt a couple of times when I was supposed to be at one of my friends weddings and forgot to get my dad to pre tie my tie as so I could slip it on easily and be good to go. I would call my parents house hoping I could pop by and get my tie taken care of. Well they weren't home a couple of times and what do you do then, You call Henry and race over to their house on Vista and get him to tie the darn thing. I made it to the wedding on time thanks to him. Thank you Henry for helping me out in those emergencies as well as the funny jokes you always told when we would see you, you will be missed. Our sincere condolences, Dwayne and Krystal Kochie. - Posted by: Dwayne and Krystal Kochie (Friends of the family) on: Dec 02, 2013
