  • Every once in a while you meet, know, or work with someone who was genuine, "real" and just always who he was. Stan was one of those few - truly genuine - good guys. I knew him and worked with him for many years, and I don't have a single negative memory. A gentleman whose infectious smile left those around him feeling better about the day they shared with him. This is a heartbreaking loss, not only for the film industry and friends, but for all who knew or met him. Our condolences to his family, in particular, his two girls. You were a good man. We'll miss you forever Stan. RIP - Posted by: Randy Guest (colleague and friend) on: Dec 06, 2013

  • There is a special connection that location managers have with the sound department, when they call rolling, a silence falls on everything except the performers... At least there is supposed to be silence, I spent several years working with Stan, listening to silence with him, then when they called cut, running off and trying to find the humming electrical panel, engine running or heavy footsteps. I respected his work, and would love to have had one more moment to help bring still and silence for his perfect blank canvas he brought for every director. Although I have moved away, and am now In a different career, I suppose I will always imagine you are still listening wherever you are. - Posted by: Alex Archbold (Co-worker / friend) on: Dec 05, 2013

  • My deepest condolences to his family at this very sad time. - Posted by: Betty Yuen () on: Dec 05, 2013

  • It is the saddest truth that the best among us always leave the planet too early. Stanley you were one of those rare people who I can't remember anybody saying anything bad about. You were universally liked by everybody. You were one of the nicest guys I ever met. You embodied so many great qualities; you were gentle, calm, creative, level headed, responsible, you were a fantastic father, but most of all you were hilariously funny. Film sets in Winnipeg are just not going to be the same anymore. I'm so sorry you couldn't stay around with us for a while longer Thank you for sharing your life with us as you did. We are all the better for having you in ours. So wherever your journeys now take you, may you experience only peace, pure joy and ultimate love… Brock - Posted by: Brock Capell () on: Dec 05, 2013

  • Stan was the guy I would always call with my dumb technical questions, knowing he would patiently give me a miraculously clear answer. He was a generous and reliable friend, loyal and warm-hearted. I have worked in this business a long time, watched him come through the ranks as a new trainee, and I have never heard a word said against him. He leaves a huge hole in our hearts and our community. - Posted by: Shereen Jerrett (friend) on: Dec 05, 2013
