Ron and I would like to offer our deepest sympathies to Betty and the family during this difficult time. I (Lee) have many fond memories of working with Mr. McGrath at Loblaws at Northgate Plaza many years ago. We are so very sorry, Betty. - Posted by: lee and ron jaremowich (lee (co-worker)) on: Dec 29, 2013

Our deepest sympathies to Betty and Phillip, Bobby & Shannon. I worked with Bob at Valmar in Elie. He was a excellent worker who prided himself in his work. He had a great sense of humor and would always help us with our vehicle problems. Mandy our first dog came from Bob & Betty when they bred Maltese dogs. After Bob retired from Valmar he would still drop by to say hi which was always nice. He was always helping someone because that was the guy Bob was. Betty and the kids we are thinking about you in BC...Bob's spirit lives on. - Posted by: Gilbert & Linda Bouchard (( Co Worker / Friend )) on: Dec 08, 2013

Mr. McGrath was my first boss at Loblaws North Gate. I have had many since but he taught me a great deal about how to treat people. His humor and understanding of the human condition was an inspiration. I will always smile when I think of him. - Posted by: Brian Humniski (Past employee) on: Dec 08, 2013

Uncle Bob was always smiling-that's what I remember most. Funny, genuine, amazingly easy going. He was someone you couldn't help like. He and Betty-Anne glowed when they were together. I remember watching them when on a special summer he was able get away from work to visit everyone in Chilliwack. I thought it was so cool how every time they looked at each other, a warm smile was exchanged. They were sincerely connected and after all these years still deeply in love. He was a very special man whose left an incredible legacy - wonderful children, loving grandchildren. And my very special auntie Betty-Anne. My love and sincerest sympathies to them. - Posted by: Sandra Stuppard (Niece ) on: Dec 07, 2013

I met Bob while working at Loblaws. He was my first manager with that company. I will always remember his sense of humour, quick smile and how good he was with the customers. Years later, when I became a manager, I tried to emulate his example. Thru him I met Phil, his son, who I worked with midnights and who had the same zany sense of humour. My own life experience is richer for having known him. Rest in Peace, Bob!!! - Posted by: Steve Channing (Co-worker) on: Dec 07, 2013

Bob hired me to work at LOBLAWS, 39 years ago, when I was just 16 yrs. old. I always respected his demeanor and really appreciated him as a store manager at Loblaws #1505 Northgate Plaza. Just a great PR man for the company. There are several of us that are still employed by LOBLAWS that BOB did hire and give us a chance to start our working careers. Westfair Foods **NEVER** had a better manager. - Posted by: Doug Hutsel (former employee) on: Dec 07, 2013
