GEORGE ERNEST LACKEY April 4, 1932 - November 30, 2013 With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of George on Saturday, November 30. He leaves to mourn his wife of 58 years Jean, sons Alan (Nancy), Wayne, Kelly (Brenda) grandchildren Melissa, Derek (Amanda), Alanna (Ryan), Dylan, Kerri-Lynne (Brandon), Kendra and great-grandchildren Emma and Trinity. He is survived by his brother Ted, sister-in-laws Marjorie and Heather, life long friend Georgie Brown and many nieces and nephews. George was employed by Bridge & Tank Western until its closure and retired from E.H. Price in 1994. He was an active member and President of both North Kildonan Community Centre and Red River Valley Sports League. He took great joy in coaching his sons hockey and baseball teams and could always be counted on as a loyal fan who rarely missed any event his children or grandchildren participated in. George was a quiet encouraging presence in the stands. As per George's wishes cremation has taken place and a private family ceremony will be scheduled at a later date.
