Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • Before I got baptized he choose my name in English. Then I realized his mother had same name as me. I thank him for picking my name and baptized me. I had so many good memories of him. We would help out bringing papers house to house before Sunday for him and after church we would run to blow candle. He had so much passion for what he does a our catholic priest. Rest in our beautiful heavenly place Jusipi! - Posted by: Marie Madeleine Kakkianiun (Friend and friend of my family) on: Nov 22, 2021

  • I first met Atata Jusipi when I was eight years old. Jusipi made the guitar dance, He was a very good singer, taught a lot of us. He gave me a nice guitar for my 16th birthday. My wife and I did our vows 28 years ago, he baptised all of our children. Unfortunately buried my youngest son. He has done this to many of Inuit up in Nunavut. You have faithfully served God and I know that you will rest in eternal peace. Kakoogootauq (till we meet again) - Posted by: Gabriel Nirlungayuk (dear friend) on: Dec 09, 2013

  • He was our priest here in Kugaaruk in the 80's and was here for a few years. I remember him when I was a child, I used to ask to use his cross country skies to go sliding across the town, he would go cross country skiing down the frozen ocean here, I think that kept him fit :) He will be missed but not forgotten R.I.P. father Jusipi until we meet again in heaven. - Posted by: Joanne Illuitok Ruben (he was our priest here in Kugaaruk known as Pelly Bay, Nunavut) on: Dec 08, 2013

  • He worked with my parents way before I was born. He baptized me and most of my siblings. Father Joseph was always with a smile, so helpful for all people who were sick or healthy. I remember him coming 11 pm for night prayers with our whole family! May he rest in peace. You will be dearly missed, Jusipi. <3 - Posted by: Margaret Nirlungayuk Inaksajak (Friend) on: Dec 08, 2013
