Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTOPHER FRANK SIMPKINS On Saturday, December 7, 2013, with the love of his family surrounding him, Chris Simpkins passed away following a cardiac arrest. Chris was predeceased by his parents Lillian and Harold Simpkins. Chris leaves those who loved him very deeply to cherish his memory: wife Cathie, sons Michael (Verenia); David (Natalee); step-son Ryan; grandchildren Cody, Matthew, Joshua; sisters Lucille (Bert), Nancy (Jim and niece Jennifer and nephew Jason) and brother Ken; in-laws: Jim and Darlene, Dave, Laura, Taylor and Colton. Ex-wife Peggy. Also many close friends who's relationships Chris cherished. Chris was a quiet man who exuded love and kindness. He was extremely handy and enjoyed helping others whenever needed. Chris loved nature, being outside, being at the lake with family and friends and fixing things (always a project on the go). Cathie and Chris shared a love and a bond that transcends time and space. As per Chris' wishes cremation has occurred and there will be no funeral. Chris' wish for all is that you live life to the fullest, pay attention to the good moments everyday, express gratitude and pay kindness forward. Thank you for all the love and support for our family. Many thanks for the care and compassion Chris and our whole family was shown by the Concordia Hospital ICU team. A special thank you to nurse Maureen Doran and Dr. Shelley Zubert. Should friends so desire, memorial donations in Chris' name may be made to a trust for his grandchildren at the Scotia Bank, Portage. Condolences may be sent to the family c/o Omega Funeral Home, 83 Royal Road South, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 1T8, 1-800-303-4621 or friends may leave a message of sympathy on our web site www.omegafuneralhome.com "Dedicated to those we serve".
