She is predeceased by her husband Jose, parents Dionisio and Dionisia, brothers Lucas and Marcello, stepsister Tilan, and her children Ursulo (Femia), Francisca (Feliciano), and Felissima. She is survived by her children Celing (Ising), Rebecca (Conrad), Trini (Richard), Erlinda (Rudy), Bonifacio (Delia), Agosto (Nimfa), Rosario (Manny), and Joel; her grandchildren Alexander (Pedy), Arnel, Arturo (Amor), Antonino (Kris), Sally, Arnold, Ariel, Zeny, Michael, Neptalie, Elizel, Jonathan, Bong Bong Jr., Robiel, Bartholome, Ericson, Rowena, Marie, Christopher, Emerson, Sandra, John, Swalle, Bonita, Maribeth (Nonie), Marites, Brian (Shelley), Preston, Michelle (Paul), Czarina (Raymond), Cheryl (Krishna), Lorie (Darren), Ryan (Lyn), Raymond (Leslie), Charlene (Rex), Jackie (Joel), Jenelle, Justin, Kathleen, Kevin, Naomi, Leanna; her many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was born in Mexico Pampanga, Philippines, and immigrated to Canada in May 1980 with her husband Jose. Together, Jose and Demetria watched over their growing family in Winnipeg, celebrated many births, enjoyed family vacations throughout Canada and the U.S., and spent their favourite pastimes camping, fishing, picnicking, babysitting, and cooking up a storm. She taught us that nothing is more important than family, and that true love is undying and unconditional. We celebrate her life knowing we all carry a part of her with us, which brings us much needed comfort at this difficult time. She is now at peace with her beloved Jose, and together they will continue to watch over us. The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers Sheila, Carmelita, Luz, and Jann; and to her physician Dr. R. Padua. Lamay (viewing) to be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. on Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Funeral service to take place at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 168 Worth St., on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, with reception to follow. Mrs. Demetria Tongol was a loving mother grandmother, great Aunt and so understanding and thoughtful, especially to her daughters and sons-in-law. We had the pride abd privilege to know her family for decades and we can honestly say, from the bottom of our hearts, Ima, you left this world with great pride and dignity!!! May you enjoy the new life and eternal bliss as you reunite with the love of your life in another world.
