Condolences & Memories (13 entries)

  • My condolences to Ray's family. I spent a lot of time with Ray when he lived in Winnipeg.. Ray's care free approach to life is somthing we should all admire. I will miss his smiling face and distinct laughter. Although the days of his 66 pontiac and 56 chev are gone, the memories he created will last for ever. RIP Ray... - Posted by: Ed Enns (Friend) on: Jul 07, 2014

  • Hey Ray...our friendship of decades gone in an instant...will always remember our fun times, your goofy grin, infectious laughter and all the things that a best friendship offers...honesty, loyalty and support...I will miss locking horns about certain subjects that got you going, knowing the ensuing results would always be laughter and me having the last word, with the ironic twist that I truly am having the last word now...bittersweet and painfully brutal...you have left a hole in my heart and my entire family will miss you dearly...RIP Ray...you will always hold a piece of my heart and a permanent file in my memories...your dear friend Cece... - Posted by: Cece Lafreniere (best friend) on: Dec 22, 2013

  • I remember Ray as having a very big, but mischievous smile, a twinkle in his eye, and a little hop when he walked; he was a happy-go-lucky guy. Ray enjoyed people, was a daredevil, and had a carefree spirit. He and I shared some wonderful times back in the days of our youth and I am saddened to know he is no longer here to be the friend that he was to so many. My heart is sad, I feel deep sympathy for his daughter, sister, and parents, along with so many others who have been touched by Ray. - Posted by: Sheri Bakker (Kuehn) (Friend) on: Dec 18, 2013

  • I have known Ray since the 70's, the years of his baby the '56 Chevy. We have stayed in touch over the years. He was always there to lend an ear and advice. I will miss the twinkle in his eyes that never changed over the years.. His laugh and outlook on life... Ray in general... You're in my heart always. My thoughts go out to his mom and dad, sister Kim and his daughter Lexi - Posted by: Barb taylor(small) (Friend) on: Dec 15, 2013

  • Our sincere condolences to your family. Have some pretty cool memories of you from those hot rodding days in the late 70's and early 80's while growing up in Winnipeg. Can still remember the sound of your 56 Chevy with the 3 barrell holley on that small block revving at full song. Too bad we hadn't crossed paths in a while. - Posted by: Ron Balaz (Old Friend) on: Dec 14, 2013

  • My condolences to Ray's family. Ray and the boys from Elmwood have many fond memories of you and your "56" Chevy, you were the "John Force" of Portage Ave. late night cruising. You have given us many hours of laughter and you will be missed. - Posted by: Dennis Boyechko (Best of friends) on: Dec 13, 2013

  • Ray grew up on our street and I'll always have fond memories of Ray from when I was a kid growing up on Heather Rd. in Winnipeg, having wrestling matches with him, etc. He taught me how to ride a bicycle way back when. He would always stop by our house for a visit or to say hello whenever he was in town. Our condolences to the Strattons from the Oystreck family. - Posted by: Darrell Oystreck (friend) on: Dec 12, 2013

  • I can honestly picture my Dad, Ray's Uncle Tim, putting his arms around him and giving him a big hug. - Posted by: Tara Stratton (Cousin) on: Dec 11, 2013
