PHYLLIS MILDRED WADDELL March 1918 - December 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis, she was predeceased by husband Gordon Morton Waddell, deceased in 1985 and four sisters, Elsie, Ada, Olive and Daisy. Left to mourn are her two sons, (Bill) William Waddell (wife Judith) of Nanaimo, BC and Brian Waddell (wife Christine), recently moved from Alberta to New Zealand. Grandchildren, David, Cynthia, Thomas, Scott and Jonah, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She will also be sadly missed by dear friends, of over 50 years, Daphne and Joe Kowal and her nephew Donald, wife Barbara Atkinson and their children, of Winnipeg, who have spent many hours bringing Phyllis great joy and love while she was under care at Lions Manor Care facility, after she had a stroke. Phyllis was born and raised in West Kildonan, Winnipeg. She was an active member of the West End senior centre and a longtime member of the Winnipeg Seniors choir, where her love for music shone. She was an exceptionally warm and loving person, and was admired by everyone she touched in her life. Prior to her stroke, she took great pleasure in travelling to BC and Alberta several times a year to spend time with her sons and their families. Phyllis took up residence at the Lions Manor after the death of her husband Gordy in 1985, where she resided for 25 years, until her stroke six years ago, which took her into the Personal Care unit at the Lions Manor, where she passed away after a long life of 95 years. Special thanks to the care givers at the Lions Manor for their unconditional love, care and kindness they showed to our loved one. Love and thanks to Daphne for all the time and love you showed Phyllis, you were her daughter of the heart. She will be in the thoughts of all who knew this very special lady. A private family interment will be held. May she rest in peace.
