PAULINE (CHICKWAM) GENAILLE Peacefully on December 7, 2013, with family and friends by her side, Pauline "Chickwam" Genaille (nee Chartrand) of Duck Bay, Manitoba went to meet her Lord and Saviour. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, godmother and friend will be deeply missed by those who have been a part of her life. Pauline was born on May 30, 1954, in Birch River and was raised in Duck Bay where she lived all of her life. She graduated from Frontier Collegiate Institute, Cranberry Portage and furthered her education at the University of Brandon where she received her Bachelor of Education Degree in 1990. Pauline was employed with Frontier School Division for over fifteen years as part of the teaching staff at Duck Bay School. Pauline married Robert "German" Genaille on October 20, 1973 and together they raised their family in their home community of Duck Bay, Manitoba. Chickwam will always be lovingly remembered for her kindness, her generosity, her love for family and friends, and her laugh that would come bursting out of her as she visited and enjoyed her favourite pastimes, playing cards, spending time with family and friends and her annual camping trips to the Blueberry Patch. She was an inspiration to everyone and never complained while bravely battling health complications from diabetes. Pauline always looked for the good in everyone and found happiness in every situation. She was predeceased by her father, Joe Delaronde, her mother Martha Chartrand, her grandparents, Joseph Chartrand and Albina Genaille, her brothers Elbert and Daniel Chartrand and her great-nieces, Madison and Sadies Genaille-Chartrand. Pauline leaves to mourn her passing by her loving husband Robert, her devoted children Richard, Kevin (Sharlene), Lisa, Robin "Sugar-Pie", and Robert (Jewel). She also is survived by siblings, David (Glorian), Nancy, Frances (Charles Sinclair), Rita (Allan Spence), Walter (Lyn), sister-in-law Bernice and her beloved grandsons Tristan, Kevin Jr., Aspen, Darian, Dominic and Little Richard. A private family viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2013, at Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Home in Dauphin, Manitoba. A Wake Service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013 commencing at 4:00 p.m. with prayers at 7:00 p.m. at the Duck Bay School Gymnasium, in Duck Bay, Manitoba. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Duck Bay, Manitoba with Father Leo Fernandez officiating. Interment to follow at the Duck Bay Cemetery. Family and friends would like to thank the nurses and staff of the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba for their excellent care and compassion during this trying time. If friends so desire, donations can be made to the Manitoba Metis Federation Bereavement Fund in Pauline's name.
