CLARK BRAUN September 26, 1938 - December 5, 2013 Suddenly on Thursday, December 05, 2013, Clark Braun peacefully slipped away while sitting comfortably in his favorite chair. He was 75. Dad was born in Altona, Manitoba where he raised his children and later moved to Winnipeg and met his life-long, loving friend Sandra (Sandy) Reimer, with whom he spent the past 38 years. Left to remember him are his children Becky Morrow (Howie), Lorrie Armstrong (Randy) and Scott (friend Cathy), Sandy's children Rob (Brenda), Dave (Jing), and Leanne Carswell (Kevin). Clark had two grandchildren, Colin Armstrong (21) and Ryan Armstrong (15) and also had a strong bond with Sandy's nine grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sisters Shirley, Lois, and Clarice and one brother Iver. He was predeceased by his father Ed J. in May 1990 and mother Neta in June 1998. During his life with Sandy, Dad helped keep their home tidy, cooked meals, and maintained the yard with flowers and well shovelled walkways. Family gatherings were always a treat as he helped with the turkey/ham and even with the dishes! He dedicated his time to Sandy ensuring she was taken care of and formed special friendships with her children as well as Sandy's only sibling Georgina. He was active with family activities and could always be counted on; anytime--anywhere! In his earlier years, Clark and Sandy spent their summers at Stonewall Quarry Park enjoying trailer life on the weekends, where the yard was always well-trimmed and lined with colorful flowers, along with his shiny clean car (the car always had to be clean)! He formed many friendships during this time. Dad spent the majority of his working life as a driver of tractor/trailers for Reimer Trucking/ EBD Trucking and Palliser Furniture in Winnipeg, with the last 11 years as a fleet driver for Piston Ring Services. After his long highway trips, we were often reminded of how "crazy" the drivers were on our Manitoba roads. He enjoyed his recent years with Piston Ring delivering parts to stores in South Eastern Manitoba and took time to stop and chat with the folks he met along the way. He always seemed to know someone everywhere! Clark had a love for cars, was always shining up "his wheels" and as a hobby collected die cast scale vintage cars. In compliance with Clark's wishes no formal Funeral Service will be held. At a later date, he will be placed near his parents in the Altona Cemetery. In Dad's memory, the family encourages donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 2157 Portage Avenue, 204-897-4665, is in care of arrangements. wojciksfuneralchapel.com
