BETTY HARDY On December 5, 2013 in Palliative Care at home, Betty passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer. Betty was predeceased by her husband Jack in 1984. Over the years she also grieved the loss of three brothers (Andy, Bob and Jack) and four sisters (Jean, Dorothy, Maggie and Hazel) as well as sister-in-law Margaret Caine and her husband Jack. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her son Fred, daughter-in-law Ruth, grandchildren Jill (Frederic) and Robert (Monica), sister-in-law Lil and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Betty was a kind and generous person who always looked after the family. She enjoyed her years working at Eatons, camping, fishing and hiking with Jack, cheering for her grandchildren in their various sports endeavours and the 15 years of volunteering at Meals on Wheels. She loved keeping up with the music and entertainment world, recently nick-naming her favourite dog Honey Boo Boo! The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Garcia and the entire Home Care, Wound Care and Palliative Care teams. Their compassion, hard work and professionalism will always be remembered. A big thank you to niece Colleen for all the special care she provided for Betty. Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial is being planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
