DINA SERI On Friday, December 13, 2013, Dina, our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away at the age of 85 years. Dina is survived by her son Carl (Alenka); three grandchildren, Cathy (Dean) Bangert, Pamela (Corey) Vokey all of Winnipeg, and Michael (Mary) Seri of Halifax; six great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Nicholas, Owen, Jamie, Sadie, and Chase. She also leaves to mourn three brothers and their families. Dina was predeceased by her husband Otello, and brother Gino. Dina was born in Villalago, Italy in 1928 and came to Canada in 1955 after spending six years in Argentina. She was employed in various aspects of the garment industry until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and especially cooking and baking for family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue with Fr. Sam Argenziano officiating. Viewing will be at the church prior to the service. Entombment at Assumption Cemetery, Queen of Heaven Mausoleum. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Maples Personal Care Home whose help and kindness comforted her in her last two and a half years. Sra. Dina and I worked together at GWG jeans many years ago. After the factory closed we still stayed in touch. I would take walks from my house on Sheppard street and sit with her and chat. I most recently saw her at Maples Personal Care Home. She was a good, kind, soft spoken, and loving woman. She always spoke very highly and with love about her family.
