WILBERT (BERT) BRELISFORD KEDDIE It is with great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Bert Keddie, on Monday, December 16, 2013 at his residence. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lois; children Scott (Deidre), Shelley (Gord), Janice (Dave), and Diane; grandchildren Brittany (Ash), Derek, and Jaclyn; great-grandson Alex; sister Phyllis and brother Gordon. He was predeceased by his parents, Phillip and Myrtle, and his sister Sylvia. Bert was born November 12, 1934 in Holland, Manitoba. He started working on the farm at an early age, but still found time for baseball and curling. He joined The Canadian Bank of Commerce at the Treherne branch in 1952. His career took him across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and northwestern Ontario before settling in Winnipeg. He retired after 40 years with CIBC as the Deputy Manager, Corporate Bank. He was an active member of the Windsor Park United Church and gave willingly of his time to charitable organizations, including JA. His passions included fishing, travelling, and time with family. Road trips, either with the family or with Lois, took him across 10 provinces, two territories, and 46 states. But nothing compared to having the whole family at the cottage for a weekend of boating, bonfires, and beverages. Memorial service will be held on Friday, December 20 at 1:00 p.m. in the Windsor Park United Church, 1062 Autumnwood Drive, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CNIB, P.O. • Uncle Bert was in my life since I was a little girl. His laugh was infectious and I will fondly remember it. Hugs to Auntie Lois and all my cousins. Love you guys. - Posted by: Debbie Dekker (Niece) on: Mar 07, 2014

  • I was saddened to hear of Bert's passing. Sorry I wasn't able to make the funeral. I have many lake memories of Bert, many include being by the campfire, canasta, or his famous buns at the Riverview lodge pig roasts. My thoughts are with the family during this difficult time. - Posted by: Lesley Nakonechny () on: Dec 23, 2013

  • Lois; We were so saddened to learn of Bert's sudden passing. During our careers in the bank, I always respected Bert's financial and management abilities. Then, following retirement, he was to be admired for his positive attitude towards the loss of his sight and to life in general. We certainly share the loss you must be feeling at this time. Unfortunately we are in California just now to celebrate Christmas with family and so will be unable to attend the formal Celebration of Bert's life. However, you will be in our thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time. - Posted by: Bill & Susan Finlay (Business associate & friends) on: Dec 20, 2013

  • I will always have a place in my heart for Burt Keddie - he was my manager many years ago when I first started as a teller at CIBC. Our branch was robbed and I was the teller (only 18 years old at the time) that was robbed - I was lost, scared and so upset and he was a quiet kind force that helped me through that day. My condolences to your family. Shelley Hadley - Posted by: Shelley Hadley (CIBC) on: Dec 19, 2013
