DOROTHY MCCAFFREY-KOPS (DOUGHERTY) December 27, 1919 - December 16, 2013 Dorothy died peacefully at the age of 93 at the Concordia Hospital on December 16, 2013. Dorothy was born in Moose Jaw, SK, the eldest of seven siblings, to Ada and Angus Dougherty. After growing up on the farm in Lake Valley, Dorothy moved to Winnipeg to enroll in nursing school at the Winnipeg General Hospital and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1942. She worked in the OR, Emergency and Out Patients throughout her career. Dorothy married her first husband Hugh McCaffrey (1913-1998) and they had three children, Drinda, Peggy and Nancy. Her daughters fondly remember mom for their wonderful upbringing with vacations and travelling on car trips every summer, with camping, swimming, and visiting with family which was always important to mom. Dorothy was hardworking, and fun loving, who cared for and looked after others, supported her church and gave strength of character to her daughters. Dorothy is remembered for her love of nursing, gardening, travelling, entertaining, love of family, cooking, playing cards and enjoying life. Dorothy married John Kops on November 3, 2001 and the family doubled in size with the addition of John's three sons, Bill, John and Doug and their families. John and Dorothy shared 12 wonderful years together as husband and wife, travellers and companions. Dorothy is predeceased by her parents Ada and Angus, husband Hugh, brother Doug and sisters Louise, Leone and Joyce. Dorothy is survived by her husband John, daughters Drinda (Dan), Peggy and Nancy (Jay), grandchildren Lisa, Brad, Brandee (Ryan) and Walker (Shayma), great-grandchildren Miliah, Connor and Oisin, and siblings Doreen, Gordon, Inez and stepsons Bill, John and Doug (Barb) and their families.
