ANGUS (GUS) BELL Peacefully on December 20, 2013, Gus passed away at St. Boniface Hospital, where he was born on February 10, 1937. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marlene, his children: Michael (Natalie) and daughter Caitlin; Ken, wife Trish and their children Riley, Tyler and Caleigh; son Doug (Leigh); daughter Lori, husband Brent Ostermann and their sons Ryan and Caden; sister Mona Lanthier, sons Rob and Richard and their children; brother Bruce (Donna), son David daughter Tracy and her children; mother-in-law Gladys Chrispin; brother-in-law Greg Wilkinson (Mary Louise) and family. Gus was predeceased by his parents Robert and Agnes, brother Robert, sister Mary (son David), nephews Randy and Robbie, and close friend and brother-in-law Rollie. Dad worked as an electrician spanning 40 years, spending over 25 years with Comstock. He made many trips throughout the North on the Dew Line, U.S.A. and finished up his career at the Health Sciences Centre all the while being a proud member of IBEW local 2085. Dad was known for his hard work ethic whether at work or helping out family and friends. As a handyman, he assisted all of his kids in the building and renovating of their homes, also willing to give a hand to friends, unselfish of his time. Gus coached hockey since a teenager and was involved with coaching all three boys throughout the years at Norberry Community Club. He even coached Lori in soccer and they ended up winning the city championship. Who would have thought? Gus spent his retirement years actively watching his grandchildren's sporting activities. most notably hockey. A special thank you to Emergency and 6E staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion during this time. Flowers gratefully declined. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at E.J. Coutu & Co.
