Condolences & Memories (4 entries)
Dearest Mitch; I have worked at the Calgary Stampede for 17 years. Mitch was one of the good ones. I only saw him for 10-12 days every year since 1996, but he was one of the exhibitors I looked forward to seeing every year. Each day he would come into my office and we would give each other a hug. I know he had health issues, I prayed for him to be healthy and when we saw each other Stampede 2013...he was looking really good. I will miss your hugs Mitch, your laughter and just you walking into the office with such exuberance and humor. Rest in peace my friend, you will be spoken about at Stampede 2014. Bill and I extend our sincerest condolences to Mitch’s family and friends. There will be a large emptiness felt in our lives. We met Mitch 36 years ago on our first venture of the exhibition circuit, he invited us to his motorhome after hours for a 5 course meal! How many times have we dined together? EVERYWHERE - across Canada and Florida, even a motorhome tour to California. He was a “KING” A very smart and kind man. Will miss hearing his witty comments! I met Lawrie probably 27 or 28 years ago when he was at the Calgary Stampede...we soon became friends and all looked forward to the Stampede each year, as one night Lawrie and his brother Bob would bring refreshments to my office, I would supply the TV, and we would watch CFL football, have many of the above mentioned refreshments, solve a lot of world problems, and have about a million laughs......I will miss Lawrie....it has been my privilege to call him a friend all these many years - Posted by: Gary Seamans (business associate) on: Dec 30, 2013
I met Mitch 3 years ago when he began catering our annual training events at the Red River Exhibition. He was always in a good mood and the food and service was always fantastic! You will be missed. Deepest condolences to all your friends and family from the whole MacDon Product Support team. - Posted by: Christian Thompson (Friend) on: Dec 28, 2013
