EVELYN SUSAN RENAUD (SUTTON) September 29, 1956 - December 27, 2013 Surrounded by the loves of her life, her husband Ryan and her sons, Blair and Brent, Evelyn passed away after a valiant battle with cancer in the early morning hours on December 27, 2013. She was just 57 years old. Ev was predeceased by her father Eric Sutton, mother Margaret, three brothers, Jim, Joe and David, sister-in-law, Jean and father-in-law, Harvey. Ev will be deeply missed by her husband of 35 years, Ryan, her sons Blair and Brent (Sarah), her sister Gloria (John), her mother-in-law Sylvia, brothers-in-law, Leon (Fran), Kim (Debbie), Darryl (Jodi), as well as many nieces, nephews and countless friends. We also can't forget to mention how much her furry sons, Grizzly and Gizmo will miss their mom. Ev was born and raised in Winnipeg and during her lifetime, she was affectionately known by a few different nicknames - Evie Sue and Suzie among them. There was no one who had more of a zest for life than Ev. She never turned down an opportunity to have fun and nothing meant more to her than being in the company of her family and friends, laughing, joking and playing games. Ev and Ryan were known for their warm hospitality. Their home was always open to welcome family and friends. Ev had a long and wonderful career working as the accounting manager with CHUM radio (Bell Media). Her colleagues had nothing but the utmost respect for her dedication and work ethic. She will be sorely missed by those she worked with. Ev's greatest love was for her two handsome sons - Blair and Brent. They were her whole world and her eyes shone with love and pride every time she spoke of them. She truly adored them. We (Ryan, Blair and Brent) want to express our deepest gratitude to all of our family and friends for their love and support. We could not have done it without all of you and you'll never know how much it has meant to us that you were there for us during one of the most difficult times of our lives. We'd also like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the 4th floor of the Victoria Hospital. The memorial service to celebrate Ev's life will be held Friday, January 3, 2014 at Grant Memorial Baptist Church, 877 Wilkes Avenue at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to the charity of your choice in Ev's name. • I think about Ev often and still find it hard to believe that a friend so full of life and love is gone but you shall never be forgotten. I often think I see your face in the crowd, so you shall always be in my thoughts. We had a great time when we were last together talking about the good old days and working at Chum and listening to music by Adele. My prayers are with you Ryan Blair and Brent and yes she is still making great friends in heaven. Shine on Ev! - Posted by: Julie gilmore (Friend and old co worker) on: Jul 17, 2014

  • GOOD AFTERNOON AND WELCOME THANK YOU FOR JOINING THE RENAUD FAMILY TO HONOR THEIR BELOVED CENTRE OF THEIR LIFE, EV, EVIE SUE RENAUD SUTTON. EV WAS A FUN LOVING WIFE, MOTHER AND CAREER WOMAN WITH A HUGE HEART OF LOVE. LOVE IS THE KEY WORD, SHE LOVED HER HUSBAND, HER SONS, HER SIBLINGS, NIECES, NEPHEWS, HER PRECIOUS FRIENDS, COWORKERS. NEIGHBORS AND EVERYONE SHE MET. I AM HONORED TO BE CHOSEN TODAY. TO SHARE MOMENTS, AND FEELINGS WITH ALL OF YOU. YOU SEE YOU MAY THINK THAT VIV, CHERYL, AND I WERE HER CLOSEST FRIENDS BUT THIS IS NOT TRUE. EVERYONE WAS EV'S BEST CLOSE FRIEND. SHE WANTED IT THAT WAY. OFTEN SHE WOULD TALK ABOUT HOW IMPORTANT IT WAS TO BE GOOD FRIENDS WITH ALL THAT CAME HER WAY. I HEAR HER VOICE IN MY HEAD RIGHT NOW SAYING I JUST LOVE PEOPLE. THE MORE THE MERRIER. I LOVE WHEN EVERYONE GETS ALONG, SHE SHARED WITH ME THAT WHEN SHE RETIRED SHE WANTED TO BE A BARTENDER SO SHE COULD TALK TO PEOPLE ALL NIGHT LONG. EV USED TO SAY SHE WAS SHY BUT I WOULD CHALLENGE THAT. SHE COULD BE SHY AT DOING A PRESENTATION, BUT NOT WHEN IT CAME TO WORK, COMPLETING A TASK, OR JUST GETTING TO KNOW YOU. WHEN A FRIEND WAS CHALLENGED WITH OBSTACLES, SADNESS, HEALTH, OR FAMILY ISSUES EV WOULD BE THE FIRST IN LINE TO HELP A FRIEND. I AM SURE YOU ALL REMEMBER HER MAJOR ROLE IN ORGANIZING A SOCIAL IN 2002 FOR HER BUDDY, RICKY MY LATE HUSBAND. I MET EVIE SUE IN '89 THROUGH RICK. HE GAVE HER THE NAME EVIE SUE FROM Q. OUR FRIENDSHIP GREW WITH THE RENAUDS THAT IN FACT EV WAS AUNTIE EV, RYAN WAS UNCLE RYAN AND BLAIR AND BRENT WERE MY CHILDREN'S COUSINS. WE WERE FAMILY. EVERY WEEKEND ONE OF US WOULD HOST A GAME OF CARDS TILL WEE HOURS OF THE MORNING. THE DRIVE WAS LONG AND ONE DAY EVIE SUE FROM Q GOT A BRAINSTORM IDEA. SHE WENT TO RYAN AND SAID HONEY I WANT TO MOVE TO CHARLESWOOD. IT WOULD BE CLOSER TO WORK, TO THE ARCHIES, THE FABIANS, AND MANY OTHER SPECIAL FRIENDS. WELL YOU ALWAYS KNEW RYAN COULD NOT RESIST HER. EV COULD BE CONVINCING AND HEADSTRONG. SHE OFTEN REFERRED TO THAT BEING THE IRISH IN HER. SO OFF TO CHARLESWOOD THEY MOVED. WELL THE CLANS OF FRIENDS KEPT GROWING, GROWING AND GROWING. THEY MOVED AGAIN...IN CHARLESWOOD TO A HOUSE WITH A SUBSTANTIAL YARD, AND 2 LARGE GARAGES. ONE WAS A PARTY HALL THE OTHER A WORKSHOP. AND IT WAS IN A COUNTRY SETTING EXACTLY WHAT EV WANTED. WE ALL CAN REMEMBER THE BEST OF TIMES AT THAT AUTHENTIC GARAGE. NEWS YEARS EVE PARTIES IN THE HEATED HALL EV MADE SURE WE PLAYED GAMES, WITH OVEN MITTS, SANG HER FAVORITE KARAOKE SONGS, ESPECIALLY MOTOWN, DANCED AND SAT AROUND THE BONFIRE TILL DAWN. YES EV LOOKED FORWARD TO CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEARS. IT WAS A TIME WHEN SHE COULD EXPRESS HER LOVE TO HER FRIENDS WITH OPEN ARMS AND GENUINE HOSPITALITY. IT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF EVERY CHRISTMAS SEASON. WE HAVE TALKED ABOUT MANY OF HER BEAUTIFUL QUALITIES BUT I WANT TO SHARE A QUALITY THAT PERHAPS YOU DID NOT KNOW, AND THE QUALITY WAS HER DEEP ROOTED FAITH IN GOD. SHE BELIEVED IN GOD THE FATHER AND HIS SON AND HEAVEN. IN MANY OF OUR LATE NIGHT TALKS SHE SHARED HOW SHE GOT THROUGH LIFE DURING THE MOST SAD TIMES. SHE NEVER FORGOT THE LOSS OF HER BROTHER DAVID, THEN HER FATHER, HER TWO OTHER BROTHERS, AND OF COURSE HER MOTHER. SHE WILL BE HAPPY TO SEE ALL THEM IN HEAVEN. AND FOR THOSE WHO ARE BELIEVERS YOU WILL BE HAPPY TO KNOW SHE HAS A SPOT IN HEAVEN. IN CLOSING I WANT TO SHARE A PRECIOUS ACT OF LOVE WITH YOU WHICH I ENTITLE MY LAST WALK WITH EVIE SUE. EARLY OCTOBER THERE WAS A KNOCK AT MY DOOR AND TO MY SURPRISE STOOD A TINY LITTLE FRAIL WEAK FIGURE THAT SAID HELLO, WITH THE BIGGEST SMILE FROM HER EYES. I INVITED HER IN AND SAID WHAT A SURPRISE ...WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE? SHE SAID I THOUGHT I WOULD COME TO VISIT MY GIRLFRIEND TO MAKE SURE SHE IS TAKING CARE OF HERSELF WHILE I CAN STILL DRIVE. YOU SEE I JUST SUFFERED A HEART ATTACK..... SHE WAS MORE CONCERNED ABOUT ME. WE SPENT THE DAY TOGETHER REMINSCING, STRETCHING, DOING DEEP BREATHING AND MAKING PLANS OF RENEWAL FOR OUR BODIES AND OUR MINDS. IT WAS A MARVELLOUS DAY.. OUR PLAN WAS TO WALK DAILY I DID NOT KNOW OUR FIRST WALK AROUND THE BLOCK WAS OUR LAST WALK. WE WRAPPED OUR ARMS AOUND EACH OTHER AND HELD EACH OTHER TIGHT. IT TOOK US 10 MINUTES FOR THAT WALK BUT WE GIGGLED AND LAUGHED ALL THE WAY. WE TOLD EACH THAT WE LOVED ONE ANOTHER AND WE WOULD SEE EACH SOON. AT 4 SHE SAID GOODBYE AND LEFT. THE NEXT DAY I CALLED AND SAID EVIE SUE DO YOU WANT TO GO FOR OUR WALK, HER RESPONSE WAS NO, I AM TOO TIRED. DAY 2, I CALLED EVIE SUE DO YOU WANT TO GO FOR OUR WALK? NO I AM TOO TIRED. EVERY DAY FOR A WEEK I CALLED . EVIE SUE,,, DO YOU WANT TO GO FOR OUR WALK? NO I AM TOO TIRED. I KNEW THEN SHE WOULD BE WALKING WITH JESUS SOON. SHE FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT, AND REALLY NEVER GAVE UP. IT WAS HER BODY THAY GAVE UP, HER SPIRIT IS NOW WALKING IN HEAVEN. SHE WILL ALWAYS BE WALKING WITH US. SO IN CLOSING I WANT TO SHARE THESE THOUGHTS WITH YOU God saw EVIE SUE getting tired, When a cure was not to be. So He wrapped his arms around HER, and whispered, "come to me." SHE didn't deserve what SHE went through, So He gave HER A rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best And when I saw HER sleeping, So peaceful and free from pain I could not wish HER back To suffer that again. TILL WE MEET AGAIN MY SWEET FRIEND. AND TO ALL OF YOU GO IN PEACE DEAR FAMILY AND FRIENDS KNOW A WOMAN OF LOVE, COURAGE, AND STRENGTH LOVED YOU. HER NAME WAS EVIE SUE. - Posted by: Joanne Archibald (Close Immediate Friend) on: Jan 04, 2014
