Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • Aunt Freida was a wonderful aunt and she will be deeply missed. I really appreciated all of the family events that she organized or helped to organized. Whenever my family and I visited Winnipeg, it was always a highlight of the trip to meet with Aunt Freida and Uncle John. My deepest condolences to Uncle John and my cousins and their families. With love, Kathleen, Charles, Genevieve and Angelique - Posted by: Kathleen Theriault (Niece (daughter of George)) on: Jan 17, 2014

  • Frieda was such a lovely person. I enjoyed getting to know her when we worked together at Fisheries and Oceans. She took an interest in people and was generous, kind and considerate. Frieda's family was very important to her and she proudly shared many stories. I will always remember how elegant and happy she looked next to her loving John, at their 50th wedding anniversary ... waving like royalty. My heartfelt condolences to John and all the family. - Posted by: Doris Bristow ((former co-worker at DFO)) on: Jan 06, 2014

  • My prayers and thoughts go to John and the whole family. I am currently in Gerace Calabria Italy. - Posted by: Fr. Fred Olds (friend) on: Jan 06, 2014

  • I did not know 'Nana' well, but she was at my wedding. I still remember when Mandi (one if my best friends, bridesmaids, and my daughter's Godmother) asked me if I would mind if her Nana came to my wedding, because she "loved weddings". What an original and charming lady! She has been a special person in my daughter's life, and 'Nana' saw my girl grow and blossom from a pudgy baby, to a tall near-teenager (she is about to turn 11). Nana will be sorely missed. God bless. - Posted by: Donna Riguidel (Friend) on: Jan 04, 2014

  • Auntie Frieda has been a giving generous lady all her life and very considerate of others. She possessed lots of patience to listen and was always concerned with everyone's well being. Her 68 year marriage to Uncle John bears witness to the fact her husband meant the world to her. Auntie Frieda will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. • Frieda Corley Melnick was my mother's 1st cousin. A lovely lady with an incredible memory and wit. We had many interesting conversations. She helped me greatly when I was researching the Corley family. My deep condolences to her dear husband John, and his family. She will be missed. - Posted by: Sandy Meyerson (Cousin) on: Jan 04, 2014
