GLORIA MAY KEATING (BOWER)
Date of Passing: Dec 27, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLORIA MAY KEATING (nee BOWER) Alias Mickey Mouse Following a short illness, Gloria, with her children by her side, passed away on December 27, 2013 at the Wellington Terrace in Elora, Ontario in her 84th year. She is predeceased by her parents, Rev'd John Conrad and May Elizabeth Bower, her brothers Richard and Paul Bower and lovingly remembered by her four children Joy (David), Donna, Paul (Cindy) and Andrew (Diane), her five grandchildren Rob (Tina), Jennifer (Scott), Jake, Toni and Nicholas and her two great-grandchildren Nolan and Jayda. Gloria graduated from the Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing in 1950, where her unique sense of humour flourished. She enjoyed many years in Girl Guides and later volunteered at length with the Boy Scouts of Canada. Gloria also worked at The Elora Mill Inn for many years. Aside from her working accomplishments, Gloria devoted a great deal of her life as a loving and stable caregiver to her mother, Elizabeth May Bower, as well as a devoted, caring and loving mother to her children. Gloria will be resting, next to her mother, in the Memorial Garden at St. John the Evangelist Church in Elora. At her request, no service will be held. The family hopes to share memories of her with you in the spring at an informal gathering. (We will also have on display her first drawing of Mickey Mouse as a young child.) Memorial Contributions may be made to your local Humane Society, St. John the Evangelist Church in Elora, or a charity of your choice. Information contact: MickeyTheMouse.1929@gmail.com

Hi Gramma I miss you.... we miss you most when we see or do things that you would love or get a kick out of. I miss your sense of humour and the terribly close bond we shared that nobody will get. I love our secrets we still have... hehe... anyway hope you're having fun up there. Don't be too sassy. Tell Gramps and Dad I say hi. xoxo - Posted by: Jennifer Cornwall (Grandaughter) on: Mar 19, 2014
