Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT C. (SOOK) JONES November 20, 1927 - December 29, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend at Royal University Hospital on December 29, 2013. Bob was born in Transcona, Manitoba to Frederick and Emily (Jeffrey) Jones. He was predeceased by his parents, three brothers Harry, Fred and Dave and three sisters Edith, Edna and Audrey. Bob is survived by his loving wife Helen, daughter Susan Brown (Chris and grandchildren Michael and Nicole) of Saskatoon and son David (Michelle) of Calgary, his sister Irene Staub (Raymond) of Beausejour, Manitoba and sisters-in-law Carol Jones of Winnipeg and Shirley Paton of Reston, Manitoba, as well as many nieces and nephews. After graduating from High School, Bob joined CN Rail as a Carman Apprentice, finishing his training in Dauphin, Manitoba. In Dauphin he met and married his loving wife Helen and together they raised their daughter and son, living in Dauphin, Prince Albert, and Montreal where he worked at CN headquarters before being transferred to Winnipeg. Bob was later transferred to Saskatoon and then back to Winnipeg where he retired, completing his 41 year career with CN in 1986. After his retirement, Bob spent his days as a member at Niakwa Country Club, golfing mostly five days each week. He enjoyed being able to golf and spend time with his many golfing companions over the next 25 years. He and Helen made many trips to Saskatoon and Calgary keeping in touch with their daughter, son, and grandchildren. Bob and Helen moved back to Saskatoon in 2006. Bob had a real zest for life and enjoyed being with friends and family, especially when everyone was having fun. He had a wonderful sense of humour and his life was filled with laughter and "one liners". Bob remained a member of the Masonic Lodges in Dauphin and Portage la Prairie. He was a charter member of the Dauphin Shrine Club in 1957. He played in the Pipe Band in Dauphin and the Shriners Khartum Pipe Band in Winnipeg. He remained a member of the Khartum Shriners in Winnipeg until his death. Bob was also a member of CN Pensioners Clubs in Winnipeg and Saskatoon, enjoying all the monthly meetings and socials, which he rarely missed. The CN Pensioners who meet for coffee during the week welcomed him into their groups which he enjoyed greatly. The family would like to acknowledge the care he received at St. Pauls and Royal University Hospital over the past four months. The I.C.U's at both hospitals were excellent and we are extremely grateful. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any Shriners Hospital or to a charity of one's choice. A Funeral Service for Bob will be held Monday, January 6, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th St., first right past Briargate Rd.). Arrangements entrusted to Paula Olson.

Dear Helen, Susan, David and family, we extend our deepest sympathy in the loss of Bob. He was such a big part of Niakwa; I especially loved speaking with him in the mornings when I walked through the coffee shop on my way to the locker room. His smile was infectious as were his many jokes which he delighted in telling me. The love you shared will keep him close forever. Please know that we are thinking of you. - Posted by: Kevin and Laurie Hooke (Niakwa Country Club Member) on: Jan 15, 2014
