BRIAN BRUCE BRUSEGARD May 3, 1938 - December 29, 2013 Peacefully with family by his side Brian passed away at the Victoria Hospital. Brian was predeceased by his parents Cecil and Lillian. He will be greatly missed by his wife Frances, son Grant (Michele), daughter Cheryl (Brian) and children Breanne, Brittany and Jordan, daughter Leanne (Don) children Jenna and Ryan; and stepdaughters, Eileen (Dave) children Genevieve and Krista, Constance (Paul) and children Danielle and Tessa, Kim (Bob) child Matthew, Michelle (John) and children Emily and Sam. Also his siblings Carol, Joan, Lynne, Cathy, Don and Richard. Brian was a proud Firefighter for 30 years as both a Lieutenant and Captain with the WFD. Brian took pride in building things at his home as well as a family cottage at Grand Beach. He also did landscaping work and loved the outdoors, hunting, camping, fishing, as well as being a swim instructor. Brian was extremely generous and thoughtful towards his children and grandchildren including his blended family. Brian you will be cherished and in our hearts forever. We would like to thank the following doctors who showed so much support and compassion to the family Dr. Inglis, Dr. Smith and Dr. Villeneuve as well as the nursing staff. A Celebration of Brian's life will be help privately with family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare, MB, Canadian Diabetes Association, or a charity of your choice.

  • Brian was my R/C Instructor at Rossman Lake..I worked at Sherbooke Pool as a lifeguard with him in the 60's...We were good friends for years and then I moved to BC and lost touch...loved his dedication to swimming and family and his wife's roots in Rossburn..he was a great influence in my life and I will always remember him as a friend and mentor...Enjoy your trip to a better place..in a few years we will be swimming together again ..All my love and the best for you in your retirement,,,Keith Elvers - Posted by: Keith Elvers (swimming instructor) on: Jan 05, 2014
