KATHERINE (KAY) DIETRICH (nee ZIMMER) With love and sadness, we say goodbye to our beloved Mother. After playing cards with her loving friends at McClure Place, Mom experienced a massive stroke. On January 6, 2014 three days later, Mom passed on peacefully. Sincere thanks to Dr. Francois and the staff of St. Boniface 6A South for the loving, dignified care they provided her. Mom's never-ending love, kindness and grace will live on in the hearts of her children, Kirk and Heather, her grandchildren Kate, Courtney, Sarah and partner Dave, her sisters Pauley and Mary, brother Phil, son-in-law Peter, as well as countless other family and friends. Mom was a special soul -- she loved and was loved by everyone! Born in Grayson, SK on August 12, 1922. In 1948, she moved to Dropmore, MB where she met her husband Harold John Dietrich. Harold and Kay moved to Winnipeg and married in 1952. In 1956, they bought a home on Strathcona Street. Harold passed on in 1979. Mom moved to McClure Place in 2006. Mom excelled at all types of crafts, sewing, gardening, darts, and baking. Memorial Service will be held this Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the McClure United Church, 533 Greenwood Pl., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favourite charity. "Let your grief be comforted by trust: I'll be near and if you listen to your heart, you'll hear all of my love around you soft and clear...." We love and miss you Mom!
