Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOSCAR HENRY MAES November 17, 1929 - January 6, 2014 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Oscar, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. Oscar passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten by family and friends. Left to mourn are his children, Norman and Connie (Beverley, Justin, Carina and Rachel along with their partners and five great-grandchildren); Kathern (Melissa, Megan and Malorie along with their partners and two great-grandchildren); Gordon and Yolanda; Harvey and Angela (Jonathon and Javan along with their partners and one great-grandchild); Roy and Lisa (Ashlee and Bradley); Ken (Dawson and Kolby); Janice (Kiara and Filani). Oscar was a very hardworking person. At the age of 23 he left to work in the mines on Snow Lake, MB where he met the love of his life, Loreen. They married on July 15, 1954 and moved to Langley, BC and started their family. In December of 1960 they moved to Manitoba to a farm in Dugald. Oscar was the happiest when he could be out fishing in his favourite fishing hole at Tooth Lake. Upon retiring from farming in 2006, Oscar has spent time living with his children in Alberta, Ontario and Manitoba. Dad you are not around but memories of you remain captured in our heart to the end of time. "When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me, remember the love that we once shared. Miss me but let me go. Miss me a little but not too long and not with your head bowed low." There will be no memorial service as a private service will be held at a later date.

Many thanks to Aunty Janice for bringing him home to Winnipeg for all of us to say goodbye. After so many years of being apart, it was nice to see those of the family who could make it back. With love, Bev. - Posted by: Beverly Rapinda (Granddaughter) on: Jan 11, 2014
