Barry, you were always a wonderful big brother to me. When we were young, you were my protecter, even though I was a terrible tattle tale on you to Mom & Dad. As grown-ups, Jake & I always enjoyed our family dinners with you, Sue, & the kids, especially Christmas. The last few summers we really enjoyed seeing you & Sue at the lake. We miss you so much, but we'll treasure the memories & we're so happy that you are no longer in pain & are at peace. Dad, you were the strongest, most courageous man ever. You battled so hard with this illness so that you could have as much time as possible with your loved ones. You are now up in heaven with your dad, and we are left with a huge void in our hearts and lives. The only comfort is knowing you are up there watching over us, and that your Grandbabies now have a guardian angel beside them. Love you Dad. - Posted by: Tina Barr (Daughter) on: Jan 12, 2014

Dear Suzanne, George and I would like to express our deepest sympathy to you in your sad loss. We are so sorry that we will not be able to attend the celebration of Barry's life on Wednesday as we are out of the country. Although Barry was very quiet, I always enjoyed his sense of humour. He was always willing to help others. I will miss him and trust that God will hold him in his hands. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Sue, and all of your family at this difficult time. Barry had always reminded me of my father whom I had lost a couple of years before working at BFI. Barry was a hard working, straight shooting individual for whom I had the utmost respect. I looked to Barry for guidance, and he was always kind enough to share his knowledge. He was tough on the outside, but once you got to know Barry, you knew what a kind and helpful person he was. When Barry paid you a compliment, that was GOLD, you took that to the bank, because you knew he meant it, and his opinion was so greatly valued. I will miss my mentor, I will miss our breakfast get togethers, I will miss his wisdom and humor, but I will forever be a better person for having Barry in my life. So long my Friend, we will see each other again. - Posted by: Todd Ridd / Shane Strazza (Friends, Co-Workers) on: Jan 11, 2014

When Norm and Me, Louis and Roger & Jack raced stock cars Barry worked on Norm's car and we had so much fun as he was such good guy. He was always there to help anyone that asked. The best to all of you. Glen Smith - Posted by: Glen Smith (Met Barry in 70's) on: Jan 11, 2014
