Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA DE DEUS RAPOSO It is with great sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Maria de Deus Raposo at the age of 73 years on Thursday, January 9, 2014. She passed away peacefully at her residence. Maria was born April 13, 1940 in Sao Miguel, Azores. Maria was an avid gardener and loved her beautiful flowers. Every summer her yard was a gardener's envy reflective of her talent and passion. Maria was a loving mother and grandmother. She was devoted to her family and will be forever cherished in the hearts of her children Zelia (Gord) Stevenson, Fatima (Rick) Shersty, Ernesto (Paula) Raposo and Jose Raposo as well as grandchildren Matthew Stevenson, Alannah Raposo, Samantha, Serena and Savannah Shersty; brother-in-law Joao (Lourdes) Raposo and her sister in the USA. She will also be missed by the rest of her large extended family and friends including numerous nieces and nephews. Maria was predeceased by her husband Manuel Oliveira Raposo, March 15, 1993 and her parents Joao and Gloria Peixoto. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Maria's memory. Vigil prayers 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin Street. Funeral 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 Immaculate Conception Parish with Fr. Andre Lico officiating. Interment Assumption Cemetery. "Mama, Vovo, you will always be remembered with love.
