FRANCIS GRACE JOHNSTON Ozhaawizhkwaa-Nigik Peacefully surrounded by family at the Victoria General Hospital, Francis Grace Johnston passed away at the age of 71 years. Wake service will begin Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at the St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church Hall in Sagkeeng First Nation, Manitoba. Funeral Service will follow on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. Grace was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Pauline Guimond, brothers Harry and Clarence, and sisters Lillian, Mary and Elizabeth. She leaves to mourn her children Derrick, Kim (Dan), Fabian, Craig (Shawna), Chad (Dana), Karen (Dan) and Carl (Sandra); grandchildren Keith "TC Bears" (Laura), Robin (Chris), Kristy (Brad), Karlee (William), Justine, Bradley "Pumpkin" (Brittnay), Shane, Amber, Brendan, Nathan, Savannah, Skylar, Abigail and Brianna; great-grandchildren Alyssa, Emily, Cynthea, Raven, Trinity, Colin, and Jax; sisters Antoinette Boubard, Lorraine (Henry) Morrisseau and Emily Boulette, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Grace loved to knit, do crossword puzzles, watching the Game Show Network, but she especially loved spending time with her family. She worked as a nurse for the George M. Guimond Care Home in Sagkeeng First Nation for 20 plus years and commuted daily from Winnipeg. She was instrumental in teaching and guiding her family back to the traditional way of life. She will be deeply missed by her family.
