Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHILDA ISABEL ERLENDSON January 7, 1920 - January 8, 2014 Hilda passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after a brief stay in hospital. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Erlendur Wilfred (Bill) Erlendson. She is survived by her son Edward John and Verna Lee Erlendson (Kitchen) of Qualicum Beach, BC; and her grandchildren Michael John Erlendson of Red Deer, AB and Jennifer Lee Erlendson of Victoria, BC. She is also survived by her brother James and Winnifred Henderson (Erlendson) of Gimli, MB; and predeceased by her sisters Doris Schreiber of Windsor, ON and Bertie Stevens of Winnipeg, MB. Hilda was born January 7, 1920 in Carberry, MB to John and Ann Henderson (Crann) who immigrated from Scotland. The family later moved to Winnipeg. She married Bill on June 3, 1950; and they lived in Sherridon, Flin Flon and The Pas before retiring to Gimli. Her family loved spending their summers with them at the beach and learning about the Icelandic heritage. She moved to the Berwick Residence in Comox, BC in 2007, and very much enjoyed her new surroundings and many new friends she made. She was an active volunteer in many community organizations and church groups, and loved and admired by all she touched. Hilda was an avid bridge player and curling fan. Our Olympic teams will miss her coaching! Hilda joined Bill in God's Kingdom on his 100th birthday. May God keep their souls to rest in peace for eternity. Goda nott! We wish to thank the doctors and staff at St Joseph's and Campbell River Hospitals for their kindness and care. If you wish to commemorate Hilda's life, please donate to a charity of your choice. With all our love - Ed, Verna, Mike, and Jen. Arrangements entrusted to Comox Valley Funeral Home, Courtenay, BC, 250-334-0707
