BETTY DUGAN On January 22, 2014 at Golden West Centennial Lodge, after a long and productive life, our dearly loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully with family by her side. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband Herbert of 47 years, her parents, Fredrick and Ethel, and her brothers Dwight and Willie, as well as her son-in-law Andre. She will be very sadly missed by her three sons and daughter, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Sons Terry (Joyce), Sheryl (Andre), Rod (Therese), Geoff (Karen), grandchildren, Britt (Ra), Sean (Sarah); David, Lisa, Catherine; Sarah, Jessica, Michael (and mother Joanne); Courtney and Hillary, and great-grandchildren Brice and Allison. Betty was born in Toronto May 18, 1926. Her first job was working in support of the war effort, where she met her future husband. While raising her family, Betty had a long, successful career with Statistics Canada. She had a love of music which was passed on to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren alike. Many years were spent at the family cottage with Herb and the family. Mom was also an excellent bridge player and played for decades well into her eighties. In keeping with Betty's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Winnipeg, Unit 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Mb. R3C 4G2. The family would like to thank Golden West Centennial Lodge for their care and support, including Wendy, David and Marcia and the rest of the hardworking staff.
