Mrs. Oliver was one of my favourite teachers at Vincent Massey High School in Brandon. She taught me English and Latin. I always thought she wore such beautiful clothes and to this day, I often think of her when I am buying special clothes. After High School and University I became a teacher in River East School Division in Winnipeg. I would often meet Mrs. Oliver downtown, usually in the shoe department at Eaton's. It was a great place to run into each other, because we had seating available for a chat. I feel so fortunate that I saw Mrs. Oliver at the luncheon at the Vincent Massey Reunion a few years ago. She looked as lovely as ever. My sincere sympathy goes out to her family. May the void in your hearts be filled with wonderful memories. - Posted by: June Thompson (Wilson) (Former student) on: Jan 27, 2014

Mrs. Oliver was my homeroom teacher for grades 11 and 12 at Westwood Collegiate....1970 to 1972. She taught me English in grade 12. She was a very kind woman and excellent teacher. I have thought of her from time-to-time over the years, and most recently when I read a reference to the poem about Alfred J. Prufrock, and how he measured out his life in coffee spoons. She certainly lived a long and full life. I am older now (turned 59 last November) than your mother was when she taught me in grade 12. I think she was 58, according to my calculations. My sympathy to all of you. - Posted by: Cathie Morgan Matula (former student from Westwood Collegiate) on: Jan 25, 2014
