DONALD JOHN LEMKE April 25, 1951 - January 20, 2014 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Don. Don was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd in 1983 and Kathy 2008. Don is survived by his three children, Jennifer, John and Mandy (Joe) and seven grandchildren as well as his brother Ken (Gloria) and sister Diane (Pete). Don's occupation was a truck driver both long distance and in the city. The lake was one of his passions. At Lester Beach he loved entertaining, barbecuing and collecting beach glass. Don was a caring, gentle soul and made many lifelong friends. His kindness was felt by all. We will miss the twinkle in his eye and his ever enduring smile. As per Don's request cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Light a candle in his memory. Remember Me To the living, I am gone. To the sorrowful, I will never return. To the happy, I am at peace. I cannot speak, but I can listen. I cannot be seen, but I can be heard. So, as you stand upon a shore, gazing at the beautiful lake - Remember me. For if you always think of me, I will have never gone.

  • We have such fond, fun memories of Don, most of them from Lester Beach. Unfortunately we lost touch with most of the family when we left Winnipeg in 1979 so we only had seen Don once in all that time. Don was a great guy to be around, his smile would light up a room and that twinkle in his eye was so infectious. Don was too young to leave but they say God only takes the best. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his children and grandchildren. Soar with the angels our dear friend and cousin as you are now truly free. In our thoughts and hearts forever. Love you Dan & Barbara MacDonald - Posted by: Dan & Barbara MacDonald (Counsins) on: Jan 31, 2014

  • Had lost touch with Don, but would wonder where he was and what he was doing. We were like family when we were kids and my kids still remember going to swim in the backyard. We had so much fun as kids, and later on with our young families. I am saddened by his passing. - Posted by: don smith (childhood freinds) on: Jan 30, 2014

  • Don was truly a gentle and soulful man. I am so fortunate to have known such a blessed and beautiful person and take comfort in the memories I have. Rest in peace my friend. - Posted by: Maria Sykes (Friend) on: Jan 30, 2014

  • Don was a great man whose life ended way too early. During his high school years, I remember Don as a burly football player with a generous heart. Visiting us on the farm, Don showed great interest in the operations of running a farm so during his visits Don was not scared to get his hands dirty by helping with the chores. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this very difficult time. - Posted by: Brian & Lois Borkowsky (Cousin) on: Jan 28, 2014

  • A tribute to a very beautiful man. We were having a conversation one day and I mentioned how I loved the symphony. My following birthday He calls me and says I have a gift for you. It just touched my heart that he remembered .... He purchased tickets to a beautiful concert. The times I had the privilege of a visit to his home in Lester Beach, as he loved the beach I too have a deep love. Thank you Don for your love and beauty... You will be deeply missed - Posted by: Carol Smith (friend) on: Jan 26, 2014
