SHARON DIANNE ENNS
Date of Passing: Jan 25, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHARON DIANNE ENNS On Saturday, January 25, 2014, Sharon Dianne Enns, born in Vita, Manitoba on March 14, 1945, quietly escaped the winter's cold. After 12 years, her damaged heart could no longer sustain such a firm determination to live. Her family were at her side in the Victoria Hospital ICU. She is sadly missed by husband John (1968); children Jason (Joanne), Justin (Vanessa), Noel, and Tessa; grandchildren Lucas, Bethany, Ryan, Emily, Marlee, and Harlee; along with a host of dear family and friends. Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Mary Alstadt. Sharon proudly completed her nurses training at WGH in 1965. Nursing gave way to raising a family, and then to many happy years with special students until 2005. Sharon enjoyed swimming and sand, "5 star" camping, travelling, gardening, smiling and laughing. A celebration of Sharon's life will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the 7th floor of the Fort Garry Hotel, 222 Broadway. The family wishes to thank Dr. M. Jain, Dr. W. Czarnecki, and Gail Bedosky for their longtime care and friendship. We also thank the professional and sensitive staff at the Victoria ICU. In lieu of flowers, please plant some in your garden. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 2157 Portage Avenue, 204-897-4665, is in care of arrangements. wojciksfuneralchapel.com

Our (Lynn and my) thoughts and prayers are with you, John and family. We haven't seen you for far too long. So shocked to hear about Sharon's passing. Just heard about it this weekend. Reflecting briefly, just brought back so many wonderful memories of so many good times together during the 70's. Was it really the 70's?? Yes, well the calendar and clock don't lie. Sharon will be missed so much. Her cheerful disposition always added something wherever she was. Our heart goes out to you, John. - Posted by: Frank and Lynn Enns (Second cousin and former co-worker) on: Mar 02, 2014

It was such a pleasure to have shared many years working with Sharon and knowing her not only as a co-worker but as a friend. I will always cherish the moments that we shared laughing and venting after a stressful day. My sympathy to her family. - Posted by: Claire Benjamin (Co-worker/Friend) on: Feb 01, 2014

My deepest sympathy is with Sharon’s family. Two of her children were my students. It was a pleasure and privilege to teach these wonderful boys. Sharon’s husband was my school principal for many years, the best administrator ever. My thoughts and best wishes are with Sharon’s family, especially her husband John and her children. I am deeply saddened by Sharon's death. She approached others with an open mind, a non-judgmental attitude, and had the courage to speak her mind. She was always curious about how our lives were going, and had lots of questions about our kids. Her easy laugh and welcoming personality will be missed. - Posted by: Ed Neufeld (Nephew-in-law) on: Jan 28, 2014

I'm so saddened to hear of Sharon's passing. We had many experiences as roommates throughout our 3 years of nurses' training. What an eye opener for 2 naive country girls! John, we must hang onto our memories of Emerson as we were all so young and embarking on our new careers. It was an exciting time. Sharon and I also had great adventures travelling throughout Hawaii and Europe before we settled down. Let family and friends help you and your family through this difficult time. My thoughts are with you. Margo - Posted by: Margo Peleshok (Abey) (friend) on: Jan 27, 2014
