Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • I have not seen George in a long time, we are going to Neepawa this weekend and just read George had passed. Very sad to hear this, always smiling with a kind word. We will miss him. - Posted by: KEVIN PENNER (FRIEND) on: Jan 05, 2016

  • If it wasn't for George, I would not be where I am today. I learned many things from George, he was a true mentor of mine and a friend you could count on to lend a hand, or give a boost to your confidence. George gave me many opportunities as well as many great challenges to enhance my knowledge, skills and experiences. Thank you George. (I am sorry I only heard recently of his passing) - Posted by: Alex Cupples (Co-worker) on: Dec 07, 2014

  • I miss you George, even though I only knew you for a few years in Grades 2 to 4 while we lived in the Arnaud, Manitoba, area. You were my best friend and I loved playing with you among the trees at our family farm. I met you later at your sister Kathy's funeral. I would have loved to be at your funeral, but because of my handicap I could not be there. - Posted by: Dave Boese (Childhood friend) on: Feb 22, 2014

  • Gerry and I have many fond memories of George and Francis, his "best friend", classmate, and wife who he was devoted to for 40 years. Although apart due to distance, he adored his son George and daughter Sherri, and grandhildren Danielle and Adam. I think of his love of adventure and living in Guana and Nigeria for many years with Wardrop Engineering, his amazing Toastmaster Skills as we often had combined meetings and he utilized his skill as the best man at our wedding, his barbecue skills, his polished cowboy boots, his pride in the country property near Oakbank and all that grass to cut, the pet turtles kept in the kitchen that lived to a shocking old age, the legendary driving skills to drive his huge rig, and his humour and wit. We feel the loss of not spending time with George these past few years with the move to Neepawa with his beloved wife, Sarah. Sincere condolences to the family. - Posted by: Anne Wolkenstein-Geall (Family friend from years gone by) on: Feb 05, 2014

  • We have missed you the last few years and now will miss you even more, but good to know you are now free to be on the road again-----may all your trails be happy ones. And just so you know, little Mikey in Melita misses you and just named his new puppy "George". See you later! - Posted by: RON (Brother in law) on: Feb 02, 2014

  • I’m sending my condolences to my dear cousins George, Sherri, Danielle and Adam. I’m so sorry for your loss. This is a time for reflection and to remember those who have gone before him...Frances, Katy, Alvin, Hilda, Carin and many others. May George rest in peace and let us take comfort in knowing that he has gone home to be with his loved ones. We miss them all very much and what we had...great memories of our family gatherings, holiday dinners, camping and lots of love! Jan Wiebe - Posted by: Jan Wiebe (Niece) on: Feb 01, 2014
